A lifetime has happened since the last post. In fact, I almost forgot about this blog (although it was somewhere in the recesses of my memory). I only just now remembered it as I was cleaning out my password files.
One of these days, I'll print out my posts so my kids will have record of all I shared regarding their journey to existence and their early childhood. So since I'm here now, I might as well post what's going on in our lives.
Yesterday was Christmas and today I'm exhausted. Lucky Tim actually had the last few days off (the last two years, he's had to work on Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning). So he's enjoying a quiet day, hanging out at home. I am exhausted. I had to work Saturday and Sunday, went to our 4th annual Christmas Eve, Eve neighbor party after work (Seahawks played Kansas City, won, and are back in the playoffs!) then it was a hectic Christmas Eve of cleaning, cooking, and prepping for my mom, Lee and Chehaila to come over for dinner and gift exchange.
My main gift to my mom was surprising her with a special message from Emma. After I wrapped a small box that said, "Kristy has your real present" into a bigger box, watching my mom look of puzzlement was priceless. I walked over to her and showed her the video I had Rachel send me of Emma say, "Merry Christmas Grandma, I'm coming to Seattle on Spring Break!". My mom just cried. It was awesome!
My mom got me this beautiful gold heart necklace and Kaydriana one with a whale tale (along with LOLs). Lake got a noisy dragon that he just loves!
Yesterday morning, Tim and I woke up before the kids. We wait for 15 min or so and Tim decides to wake them up because he is just too excited ( ha ha). The kids had a lot of gifts under the tree and we all took turns opening one a time so we can enjoy unwrapping gifts peacefully. Lake's Santa gift was a Jurassic Park set and Kaydriana's was the big LOL surprise pack (these have taken over Shopkins - talk about overpriced!). Tim bought me beautiful silver diamond earrings and I got him 1/2 a golf set. He'll get the other half soon. Then we headed over to his parents house for the rest of the day.
Lake was diagnosed with ADHD last May. He's now on Ritalin that he takes twice a day. We haven't given him his medication the last couple of days, and it's a pretty tough day when he doesn't take it. When I'm off with them next week, I'll definitely be giving it to him! Kaydriana is going through testing (appt on 1/16) for a learning disability. She is struggling with learning confidence and shuts down. I'm curious to find out if she has ADD - something is definitely holding her back. She's a vivacious, confident and funny girl, but not when it comes to learning.
As for me and Tim, we both had a transitional October. I don't want to post the details here, but I will share that it got me on the Keto track. I've lost 20lbs (I've gained 35 lbs) and it's working great for me. The holidays are a little tough, but I only cheated once the day after my birthday party when I ate Dicks fries. When you mess with your metabolic state, it can have unsavory consequences, so I won't be going off the rails anytime soon. Tim and I are both living a healthier lifestyle and finding our new normals.
Next week, the kids and I fly to go see my sister, Reid, and Sloane. Rene will come see us there. The kids are so excited to hang out with their cousins for a few days. They came over for a day this summer and had a blast.
Well, it was fun spending my "lunch" catching up. We'll see if I post again in another 3.5 years :)
