It's (gonna be) a Girl!
I could barely focus at work - all I could think of and what a lot of my employees asked me about was how excited I was to find out the sex of B-Mo. One employee even brought me a beautiful baby frame. Besides that I got a few other gifts. My supervisors (all four guys) bought be a beautiful bouquet of flowers which was a birthday slash Christmas gift and a gift certificate to Amazon.com - which I've already purchased the baby mobile with. I also received an angel ornament. All in all a good day - just not very productive.
Anyway, Tim picks me up from work at 330 since our appt in Bellevue is at 4. The technician spends the first 15 minutes or so doing all of the measurements. I started having a little bit of anxiety - all I want to know is the gender! But of course I realize how important all the other stuff is too. Turns out our baby has a perfect heart and everything else looks perfect and she is in the 91% percentile for her gestational age. As the tech is moving around the wand on my tummy I kept looking towards the legs to see if I can see a penis or testicals (The reason I was looking for those parts was because I knew I wouldn't recognize any girl parts.)-I know Tim was doing the same thing. In fact he thought the umbilical cord indicated we had a boy!
Finally she asks, "do you want to know the gender?" and we say yes. She instantly said, "It's a girl" She showed us the little butt cheeks (which you can see in the clip below) and in the middle was her vagina. The technician also made a crack about how her legs were wide open and we need to teach her thats not okay when she comes out. ummm... thanks?
As soon as it was announced she was a girl I said, "yay" and reached out to Tim and scratched his back. Naturally- like most daddys- he was hoping for a boy.
We head out to Marysville to go tell my mom in person. I promised she'd be the first to know. My poor sister, Breanna had been waiting on pins and needles and I had to tell she had to wait 45 minutes :) I think it was torcher for her. Traffic from Bellevue to Marysville was awful of course and Tim wasn't talking a whole lot. I think the shock from learning we're not having a boy right now to the annoyance of driving all the way to Marysville had him in a quiet spell.
I made little ornaments for my mom and Tim's parents on the way to their houses to be able to tell them the gender of B-Mo.
We gave my mom's hers and it takes a second to realize she is having another granddaughter.
It was cute when Tim's mom looked at the ornament and announced it was a girl and Tim's dad just lit up and said, "Girls are the best!" It was so sweet.
Later on, Tim said he was perfectly fine having a girl after he talked to his buddy Matt who has one daughter and another one on the way. I think man to man encouragement on how wonderful girls are is a good thing for any daddy anticipating a little girl.
Oh I should mention that 'they' put my due date back to 5/5/10. I guess it really doens't matter. Bottom line, our princess is due early May. At this point she is measuring the length of a banana.
I'll be taking the week after Christmas off and use that time to start decorating the nursery. Unfortunately, none of the nursery set we want is available in store so I'll have to order it online and wait for it to arrive. But as I mentioned above, I ordered the baby mobile in hopes it would come shortly after Christmas so at the very least I can pick up paint and supplies. Here is what it looks like:
I really wanted butterflies but I didn't want it to be over the top pink or purple frilly. I'm glad the set has green and brown. It took a while to find a girl set we like. And although I'm sad to not get the boy set we fell in love with, we have a 50/50 chance of getting it next time. :)
We can't wait to meet our Kaydriana Sheyanne in early May!

Two more days!
I got to hear the heart beat again and Dr. Graham says my uterus has grown and is up to my belly button, which I figured since I started to feel little movements behind it. And speaking of movements, right when I began to write this, Bmo was moving a lot! In fact I wish Tim was here so he could feel her/him move, which I'm pretty sure he would have been able to feel.

We have movement!!
Ahhh.... just thinking about it now puts a smile on my face!
And just for clarification, Tim likes to sleep with the TV on and I need silence. So he falls asleep on the couch and if he can manage the energy to come up the 28 stairs to our bedroom he will in the middle of the night :)

18 Weeks
Week 16:
Eye sight and eyelashes are developing. Tiny bones in your fetus's ears are in place this week, making it likely that the baby can hear your voice when you're speaking (or singing in the shower)at 16 weeks pregnant. In fact, studies have found that babies who are sung to while they're in the womb recognize the same tune when it's sung to them after they are born.
Week 17:
Your baby is practicing sucking and swallowing as she gets ready for the real thing: a breast or bottle! She's about the size of your palm, weighs about five ounces, and she's developing some body fat. Your baby is almost certainly listening up by now. In fact, loud noises — the dog barking, the doorbell ringing — will actually startle your baby (and also get him or her used to such noises; for instance, fetuses who regularly hear a dog barking will become babies who sleep right through Fido's outbursts). Your baby's eyes (which have fortunately finished their migration to the front of his or her head) are making small side-to-side movements and can even perceive some light, though the eyelids are still sealed. And since practice makes perfect, your baby is sharpening his or her sucking and swallowing skills in preparation for that first (and second…and third) suckle at your breast or bottle. In fact, most of the survival reflexes that your baby will have at birth are being perfected in utero right now.
And here's some proof that your baby is truly one of a kind (as if you needed any!). Within the next week or so, the pads on your baby's fingertips and toes will become adorned with completely individual swirls and creases (aka fingerprints).
Week 18:
Your uterus, now about the size of a cantaloupe, is causing your body's center of gravity to shift, pulling the lower back forward and pushing the abdomen out. On top of all that, joint-loosening pregnancy hormones are wreaking havoc on your muscles and ligaments, adding up to one big ouch! At 18 weeks pregnant, your baby is hitting the height chart at five and a half inches long (remember, that's crown to rump) and weighs about five ounces (the weight of that boneless chicken breast you're making for dinner).
And now for the skill of the week (drum roll please…): The art of the yawn has been mastered by your baby (someone's sleepy!). In fact, you might catch a glimpse of that adorable yawn if you're getting an ultrasound this month. You'll also catch a glimpse of all the fetal movement your baby's doing — twists, rolls, kicks, and punches. And would you believe your baby is finally big enough for you to start feeling those movements now (or anytime in the next few weeks). So get ready!
In less than three weeks, we'll hopefully learn the gender of our little B-Mo. I'll post a new preggo picture soon. I'm at the stage where I'm just feeling fat. I'm feeling better now that I've got more maternity pants (thanks to my MIL). But I literally tried on like 20 dresses for the upcoming Costco Christmas party. Three were my own dresses that I couldn't quite fit into. Kinda depressing. I decided that I deserve to have my makeup done for the party next Saturday and my birthday the following Saturday. So while I may not feel like my body looks good in what I'm wearing, at least my face will feel pretty :).

2nd Trimester!
Something that I'm really happy about is that Tim seems to be taking more of an interest. Not that he wasn't before, but he just didn't display it. In fact, he asked to receive my blog updates via email (Hi honey!) He also tried to look up Dad to Be sites. He didn't really have any luck. Any ideas?
Later this week I'll post an updated preggo/belly picture and what my new due date is, if there is one.

Almost 11 weeks
Here is what the website says B-Mo:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

Yesterday, Tim told me he saw my OB GYN on the news talking about the swine flu. I was planning on asking her about her H1N1 shot recommendation during my visit on Tuesday. Tim didn't pay attention to what she said. So I looked up her interview online. I'm proud to say that I found out she is the Chairman of the OB GYN clinic at Overlake, which is the huge renouned hospital in Bellevue where we're having B-Mo. I couldn't figure out how to include the video clip, but here is some text from her interview:
"Doctors at Bellevue's Overlake Hospital Medical Center are offering more protection to their pregnant patients. In an unprecedented step, Overlake Hospital is making sure all women who are pre-registered to deliver at their hospital are being offered a free H1N1 vaccine.
Swine flu seems to affect pregnant women more severely compared to the general population.
Dr. Kristin Graham, Chairman of the OB-GYN clinic at Overlake Hospital, says that's because pregnant women are more susceptible to the swine flu.
"We know that these patients are at very high risk, and we want to offer the vaccine in an efficient manner so that they can get the vaccine as soon as it's available," said Dr. Graham."
So looks like if I choose to get the vaccination, then it will be free, sweet!

What did you do before 9am this morning?
Got up at 440am for my opening shift. I went pee, wiped and noticed some pinkish blood so I wiped again and yup, more. I put on a panty protector so I can see if it was enough to get on there, and yes there was. So I had to run into work since I had to open the buidling at 530 and then Tim and I went to the ER. While I was driving to work I called all the other managers to see who would could cover for me and I finally got ahold of one that has had two kids. She suggested I call my OBs on call Dr. I didn't even know I had that option- I just knew they didn't open til 9am. So Tim and I sat parked in front of the ER while we waited to hear what the on call Dr had to say. She said because I am 9.5 weeks and at about 10 wks thats when your placenta starts settling into the uterus, that its common to have some spotting. And the fact that I wasn't passing clots and wasn't cramping should be a bit reassuring, but that she recommended I get an ultrasound. Since our ER is never busy we decided why wait to go in at the regular Drs office, when we can have the ultrasound at the ER ASAP?
The Er doc did a pelvic exam and kinda cleaned me out and noticed I didn't have new blood coming out. Then we had the u/s- the baby looks amazing! B-Mo now has little feet and arms and was moving and kicking his/her feet. Great, normal heartbeat too. So that totally reassured me! We also got the disc of pictures.
After the u/s Tim had to leave for a class for work that he shouldn't miss and since things looked good, I told him to go. Then about 20 min later the ER doc comes in to discharge me and tells me he's diagnosed me with a "threatened miscarriage". And the paperwork he gave me totally made everything seem ominous. He drew a picture for me to show how sometimes the placenta can be tearing away from the uterus... um what? The on call OB said it should be settling into it. The paperwork said I have a 50/50 chance of miscarriage. So that took whatever ease I may have had. It also states that I have lower my level of activity, which sucks because I finally started feeling good and energetic this week. So today I'm on bedrest and had to cancel all of my weekend plans.
At 9am I get a hold of my OB and she said that the ER docs always use the "threatened miscarriage" code for insurance purposes. My What to Expect blogs confirmed the same thing. She says that it doesn't really mean anything specific. She asked if the doc said anything about a "(something) hemmorage" and he didn't, so she really didn't seem that concerned. She did say that because I had started working out again, that could have caused some bleeding, that if I was dehydrated, that could cause it (I definitely haven't been drinking enough water and my lips are super chapped) or it could be the placenta is settling itself in. So she gave me a little bit more peace of mind.
I've gone to the bathroom twice this afternoon and had no more bleeding, PTL! But I had a fun filled weekend ahead of me which I was really looking forward to now that I'm feeling more energetic. Including my Ashleys wedding party night out, the American Heartwalk I walk in every year, date night with golf or tennis with Tim Saturday night, and Mariners last home game on Sunday :(
I mean of course I'm willing to skip out on all of those things because I'll do whatever it takes to have a healthy baby, but its disappointing.
As you can see i've had a pretty busy morning filled with downs and ups.
On a more positive note, here are some 9.5 week pictures of our cute little B-Mo. Too bad it wasn't video because she/he was totally kicking her little legs for us!

9 weeks
Below are a couple of fun facts:
Your baby will be born in the Year of The White Metal Tiger
Half Birthday: November 3
Birthstone: Emerald (Love, Success)
Astrological Sign: Taurus
Birth Flower: Lily_of_the_Valley or Hawthorn (Yellow, Red and Green)
This time next year your baby will be 21 Weeks Old!
Your baby will start kindergarten in 2015, be old enough to drive a car in 2026, graduate high school with the class of 2028, and will finish college in 2032, give or take a year. Can you imagine?
This week marks the end of the embryonic period and the placenta is developing as well. Your baby looks like a tiny human now and is approximately 13 - 17 mm or about 0.51 - 0.66 inches in length (about the size of a raspberry). At this point, he weighs approximately 1 - 1.5 grams (the weight of a paperclip).
While the internal reproductive organs have now become either testes for boys or ovaries for girls, there's nothing yet to tell you whether it's a boy or girl even if you look closely. The skeleton has begun to form as cartilage and bones take shape. The baby's intestine has begun to move out of the umbilical cord into the baby's abdomen and your baby is now taking his first few drinks - he's drinking amniotic fluid. Remember, a little of what you eat and drink ends up in the amniotic fluid so, it can end up in him. Reflex muscle movements continue and now your baby will move away if touched through the uterine wall. Other changes in your baby are the heart valve formation, the retina formation, and the tip of the nose becoming visible.

A Rough Week!
On Friday this past week I could barely keep my eyes open. My husband really wanted to play tennis and that was the furthest thing from my mind. Thankfully we got an invite to have dinner at our friends house. But by 9pm I was telling my husband that we were going home and I promptly went to bed. The next morning I woke up to run some errands in anticipation of my 12 yr old sister and 7 ¾ yr old cousin coming over for a slumber party. I didn’t want to leave the couch – I was feeling a bit nauseas. But I couldn’t disappoint the girls so I got my woozy self up and did what I had to. I picked up the girls and we had a good time. Although I really wish they were content to just watch movies, they of course wanted to be entertained. It was quite an effort on my part but I really don’t think they noticed and I hope we built good memories. (Well my memories were primarily cleaning non stop [making boboli pizzas and cupcakes are messy!] and watching Hotel for Dogs and Hannah Montanna the movie)
The next day at church I warned my sister’s Sunday school teacher I may be pulling her out of class early. Sure enough I had to leave about 20 min early. I was feeling sick and my eyes were closing. Then I had 1.5 hour drive ahead of me. Thankfully I had skittles and crackers in my purse and I survived. And after I got home, instead of watching the Seahawks lose, I took a nap.
Monday came and man that was bad!! I made it about 1.5 hours at work. One trip to the bathroom (thankfully didn’t lose my cookies) but I knew there was no way I was going to survive. I went home took a 3 hour nap with the hopes of returning to work. Nope, I subsequently took two more naps. But I forced my way through Tuesday at work and I think I impressed my boss. Although I was completely useless!
Then Tuesday night at 715pm I get a call from my little brother, Lee who is a wreck, telling me my mom’s been in the hospital since 2am ( I won’t go off on how pissed I was at that). My brother wasn’t even told which hospital she was in. Thankfully, my first try at googling hospitals in the Marysville area was successful. But when they tried transferring me to my mom’s room, she didn’t answer three attempts at reaching her. So I started panicking thinking she may be in surgery or something. I got through to the nurses station where somebody walked to her room and woke her up. Apparently she was so drugged that she didn’t hear the phone. I talked with her for about 20 minutes and she was able to tell me what was hurting, but not why. She couldn’t move her left side because from her big toe to the top of her head she had shooting pain, which she described as the worst pain like at the height of labor – thanks mom! I went to see her yesterday morning and she sounded better and looked better than what I expected. I had to help her wash her face, brushed out her hair and braided it and helped her change her shirt. I can’t believe they don’t have anyone at the hospital to help her with this. She had been in the same sweaty clothes for 36 hours. Anyway, I felt better after seeing her and knowing that she was wasn’t going to be leaving us anytime soon. But they are going to hold her for a few more days until they can figure out what’s wrong with her.
Thankfully as of yesterday I was feeling a lot better, although I thought I was going to lose my cookies because of the hospital smells. I think instead of having gnarly morning (all day) sickness, I really think I had a bug. Which I am perfectly okay with, because that means I’m not going to be feeling like crap every day! Oh and yesterday I got the results from my blood tests back. Everything came back great and I don’t carry the gene for cystic fibrosis. The only thing they found was that I have a slight bladder infection. No worries!
As of Monday I am at my 8 weeks. My body is changing shape and my boobs are heavy! It’s the craziest thing. They’ve gotten bigger and I had to buy a new bra. Unfortunately it has little straps and due to the weight of these things, those straps are digging into me. I’ve never had that problem!! I’m lotioning like crazy in hopes of preventing stretch marks – wish me luck!

HEART BEAT!
Tim and I were really trying to not give our hopes up. Just moments before the doc came in, we were making plans as if there wasn't going to be a baby. I knew that God would comfort us and heal us just as he did the first pregnancy and His embrace never left me. I'm just so grateful that this time, we got positive news and we can relax a little bit and start enjoying the idea of becoming parents.
YAY!!!!

BFP
At 3:12 I took the test, went into my bedroom to hang a few close and about 5 minutes later I decided to look. I was prepared for it to have one line which would be the indication of negative. I wasn't prepared to see two lines! I stared at it and made sure that it really was two lines. And there was! I began to laugh and cry then really cry and pray. I've been waiting for this for a long time, but now I was terrified. After I stopped crying I text Tim to tell him I missed him and asked when he was going to be home from golfing. It felt like he was gone forever. I pulled out the shirt I bought him a few months ago that says, "daddy rules" and wrapped the stick in it and put it in a gift bag.

When Tim got home he went into the bathroom. I had the gift in my hand and stood outside asking how his game went, obviously not caring one lick. I just wanted him to hurry up. As soon as he got out I handed him the baggy and told him I had a gift for him. He took out the tissue paper and before he took out it's contents he stated, "you're pregnant!". I started jumping up and down and told him yes! He said, "I am so happy you're so happy". And of course he was happy too.
I am not sharing this news with everyone (just those on my Thankful Thursday posts and those I know who read my blogs). I'll probably share with my employees and facebook a bit after my ultra sounds since I'm already feeling like my clothes aren't fitting well and I've never been one to keep exciting things going on in my life a secret for long.

Encouragement
She told me a story where she saw a girl who had a baby a while ago (she noted this girl reminded her of me when we were younger). She compliment this girl on how she got back into shape so nicely. The girl replied, "Thanks, but it's not like it was pre-baby". They laughed and my grandma gave an encouraging, "it will never be".
My grandma's words to me were "your body is the best it will ever be". ha ha... that could have some truth to it, but more powerfully its a reminder to be grateful for what we have pre-baby.
Tim and I were just talking this weekend about how crazy it is that I would have been just 2 weeks from my due date, which was 8/15. If I was still pregnant, there is no way we would have been able to go to Hawaii or float down the river, beaten Tim in badmitten and all of those other little things that can easily be taken for granted.

Hospital Visits
Me alone, I think I was in the ER/hospital 8-10 times. The first time was when I was 2 and fell off my Grandparents second story deck head first and spent a few days in the hospital. Then when my brother and I tried doing back flips on our futon, and I gave myself a concussion with my knee. Then I had an emergency appendicitis and spent 10 days in the hospital. I punctured my foot with an earring and the ER docs had to open my wound and flush it out. I had surgery on both my feet to have extra bones removed. I broke my elbow racing down the big hill with my cousin, Sean and somehow flipped over the handle bars. A few years later, I broke my wrist in high school because I was mad at Timmy and flung open the gym door too hard. Then I had a benign cist removed from my neck… thankfully after that, things slowed down a bit, but still had three more “surgeries” as an adult.
I can’t imagine a mother having to take her kids to the ER and spending so much time in the hospital. Of course, watching Tim go through his stuff last night wasn’t that big of a deal because he’s a big boy and I’ve seen worse – but I was thinking about my own children. I’d have to hold their hand and console them and knowing there would be nothing I could do to help them myself. I guess it all comes with the territory, but I really hope my kids aren’t as clumsy or accident prone as I was!

Control Freak
I wasn't devastated because I pretty much knew I wasn't, but loosing that hope was kinda sad.
For those who have ever worked at getting pregnant, its a crazy emotional and mini planning cycle. There is a two week period where you think and hope you're pregnant. You act like you are and make decisions based on the idea that you could be - just in case. So then you get used to the idea that you could be and question everything you feel in your body. I can't tell you how many times I checked to see if my breasts were sore. My husband thought I was wierd.
I didn't take my thermometer to Hawaii because I just wanted to relax. I did use the other ovulation signs to make sure I was ovulating. I've only sporadically checked my BBT since being home to help reduce my preoccupaion with my cycle. But I totally am... even if I'm not checking my temp daily. I can't help it.
With the lingering thoughts in my head that there may be something "off" about me which could mean difficulty getting pregnant, I had to go to the dr and get some of my concerns addressed.
I totally went prepared with my questions and with the idea that I'm probably not pregnant. I got my results online this weekend. The sweet thing is, my thyroid is fine. I had slightly high blood pressure (I think that was because the doc was 35 min late and it was making me mad) and low potassium. As far as the doc could tell, nothing that should be causing me to not get pregnant.
So I have my answers... eat more banana's, broccoli, spinach, avacado and strawberries (but I eat those almost everyday anyway) and relax. Relax, relax, relax.
I think I have asked God for patience more than I have ever prayed for anything in my whole life. I think the conclusion I'm coming to is that I need to be more obedient and leave it in His hands. I keep on asking Him for patience and to let Him take care of this, and then I keep on taking it back to try to control it. I need to "let go and let God".... sigh.... I'm such a control freak

Our Time in Maui

I asked Tim what his favorite part of our trip was and he said, “you” which I thought was sweet of course, but I know both of our favorite moment was during our sunset dinner boat cruise. Before the boat ride, we spent a few hours in Lahaina eating at the best burger place in the world called, “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and also did a bit of shopping. When we were on the boat, the DJ announced our anniversary, we met some really nice people and sat on the bow (sp?) of the boat and watched the sun set.
Our hardest decisions each day were, “where are we going to eat?” and “Do we want to beach it or pool it today?” We spent a bunch of time in the ocean and did some snorkeling. We also took a late night tour of the other side of Black Rock and almost found our selves in a water trap on the golf course. We climbed some trees and I took about 350 photos. Besides the overall beauty of Maui and the warmth and beauty of the water, I’d have to say my favorite part of Maui is all of the beautiful flowers and the fragrance they put in the air. I’m addicted to the smell of real plumeria…. Ahhh… I can almost smell it now.
Going back to work of course was difficult, as it always is after vacation, but work was truly out of control and I’m sad to say that by Thursday I lost my “Maui buzz”. Oh well, we’ll be back again sometime.
Tim and I are hopeful that our “efforts” during our getaway will result in a Maui baby, but that is in God’s hands and I’m trying really hard not to focus too much on it. It’s His timing, not ours and I get it…. I just keep praying that God continues to prepare my body and us for our next pregnancy.
Because I was in paradise, I didn’t send out my Thankful Thursday two weeks ago so below is the last two weeks combined.

Ready for Vacation!
I had stopped drinking coffee for a good 5-6 weeks or so 2.5 months ago and then found myself slowly letting it back into my morning routine since Tim and I decided to stop Trying until we go to Hawaii. Since today is my last day of work, this will also be my last day for coffee. I hope this withdrawal will be easier than my first two! I’ve read-and I’ve been told- it’s safe to have some caffeine before and after you are pregnant, but c’mon - I’ll do anything and everything to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. I’ve continued to take my prenatal vitamins and eat broccoli and spinach everyday. The past 3 weeks I’ve also had 4-5 servings of fruits and veggies just about everyday. Obviously that’s healthy for me (and all of us) to do anyway, but it’s really helped with me loosing the last few pounds.
Well, ALOHA and have a fund and safe 4th of July!!
7/2 Today I am thankful for:

1st wedding anniversary
So we go to 520 and asked the waitress when Salute closed and Sunday was their last day of business (Missed it by one day!) We decide that we’ll do Melting Pot for dinner since Tim had never been there. We look it up online and they don’t open til 5pm. It’s only about 1:30 pm at this point. So I make the suggestion that we exchange gifts. He got me a ring to wear with my wedding ring. It’s beautiful. However, it was too small. So we decided to go to Renton to drop it off to get sized and then head back to Bellevue. We still had about 2 hours until the Melting Pot opens. We go to the Rock Bottom for appetizers and kill time. We then go to dinner and Tim loves it! So much so that his stomach hurt from eating too much. I tried to warn him!!
So although the ring didn’t fit at first and our original choice of restaurant was closed and we drove around a bit, we had a great time! It was a very nice day together.

Lessons
However, there are some friendships that you realize are not worth your time or energy and you’ve got to part ways. Not that I don’t care about those people any more, but that if they have drained you and take more than add to your life, whats the point of wasting your precious resources on them? Friendship is a two way street. And although finally letting go of that relationship doesn’t mean it has to be forever, its such a wonderful feeling to be able to walk away for a bit. Get renewed and restored and be able to use your resources on those who are going to do the same for you.
The other aspect of the lesson I was reminded of this week had to do with work.; basically the same principal. I had a good reminder that my employees need and deserve my attention and that I should be connecting with them every day. They deserve to feel valued. And although it wasn’t intentional, I inadvertently was making some employees feel as if I didn’t care about them. Well, that is not my heart so I need to work on changing their perception. In the same breath, I need to “F’n relax!” (quote from an employee) and learn to not sweat the small stuff.
Below are my Thankful Thursdays from the past few weeks. I will begin posting them on my blog going forward.
5/14 It’s Thursday again!
Today I am thankful for:
~Receiving a wonderful blessing from Tim’s parents
~Having a trip to Hawaii to look forward to this summer
~The opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a person. Even though some lessons are painful (this weeks I had 2 slugs in the gut) it’s totally worth the opportunity for growth
~That I’ve woken up with a song of worship in my head the last few days that totally coincide with what I need from God that day. For example, today I woke up with the song that says, “You make all things new. You renew and restore…” I don’t remember the title, but man! It was perfect for what I needed today. Especially after yesterday.
~That God has given me the ability to show patience and remain respectful even when door to door paper salesmen offend me
~Losing 2 lbs this week. 7lbs total so far!
5/7 This week didn’t start off easy for me, but when it really comes down to it, I have a lot to be thankful for this Thursday.
~My loving husband (I’m truly blessed!)
~My cousin, Danielle who can tell me to, “snap out of it” in a loving, but forceful way
~ A relaxing and fun weekend away with my fave Costco girls
~Wonderful lunch with my dear friend, Ashley on Monday
~Our ceiling fan is finally being installed this afternoon
~That God has given me peace
~That I work for a great company with job security
And I’d like to retract my thankful for open-toed season comment from last week. Although the calendar says it’s spring (almost summer) Washington is not playing along. J
4/30 It’s Thankful Thursday again!
Today I’m thankful for (in no particular order):
~A good nights sleep last night
~ A wonderful, loving, funny husband
~ Another 4 day work week
~Girls trip this weekend (Woo Hoo! Can’t wait!)
~A wonderful past weekend with many friends and family last week (don’t get to do that too often)
~ My puppy who likes to snuggle with me
~ My cousin’s sermon’s on CD
~ Opened toed shoe season!!
~ Dinner with Tim’s parent’s and watching his nephew’s softball game tonight
4/23 My cousin started this thing she calls Thankful Thursday. I think it’s a great idea because we can get dumped on so much and lose site on what’s really important and to remain thankful for the little things.
So today I am thankful for:
*Bring your child to work day- my sister, Chehaila is here with me today. (I’m even more thankful that she got to go see a movie for 1.5 hours so I could get some work done)
*my glasses came in a week early. It’s amazing how much more I can see!
*I got to finally meet my friend Jon’s son, Chandler last night. So cute!
*my mom is moving into her new place
*the scary unexplained situation has stopped this week related to my miscarriage (TMI to share with all here)
*The medicine my doc gave me for this mystery rash seems to finally be working. (Okay, how pathetic do I sound right now? I’m seriously not a hypochondriac!)
*The note my sister left on my desk after she cleaned it saying, “I love you, love me”
*My husbands sweet text this morning
*I’m off tomorrow. Yay 3-day weekend!
*Two of my favorite people have their long awaited bridal showers this weekend
*That God does answers prayers even if you have to wait for it

5/9/09 - Update - TTC
Tim and I found out we didn’t have a viable pregnancy on his birthday. (Note to self- don’t make Dr appts on special days). Non-viable pregnancy is basically a miscarriage. From what I researched, I had a blighted ovum. Everything starts developing, but the embryo stops.
I had to have a D&C (surgically remove the gestational sac) as well as take Cytotech to flush any remaining products of conception out – It was finally time to start healing emotionally and physically. Little did I know it would take 4 months to heal physically. What a roller coaster of pain, mystery and frustration!
But here we are, finally able to try again. Tim and I have been trying to enjoy our new home and find joy in the other aspects of our lives. But I know for me, every day that goes by is another day of me just waiting to get pregnant again.
I’m really trying not to stress anymore – as stressing is clearly not helping. But mothers day is tomorrow and I really thought I’d be pregnant again by now. God is working on providing me patience and peace. Some days are easier than others but trying to get pregnant is certainly fun!
The silver lining in this is there is absolutely no doubt that Tim and I are ready to be parents. I knew I was certainly ready, but its been very heart warming to see Tim get excited and doing what he can to help us get pregnant again. He’s so ready to be a daddy and I know he’ll be a good one.
Anyway, now that I’ve updated this, I’m hoping to provide more updates as this wonderful journey of TTC continues….

1/2/09 Update
I'm tired and I have a headache and I feel bad for Tim. I'm usually not the most patient person in the world anyway, and now that I'm pregnant, I have zero tolerance. The worse part is, is that I’m totally aware of it and I can’t stop being an impatient grump.
I had fun New Year’s Eve. We went out to dinner with LaSheika, Asa, Lauren and Alicia and David. I was starving! And it took a good 20 minutes to get our drinks and 40+ minutes for food. I wanted to scream, “Hurry up and feed the pregnant woman!” But my friends didn’t know yet (well Lauren knew because I had called her earlier, not knowing she was going to join us). So we get our drinks and I want to do a toast. So we cheers to the new year and then I said, “I don’t know how we can top 2008. We got married, bought a house and found out we’re having a baby….”. LaSheika was excited and got up a gave me a big hug. When Alicia and David got there I said, “What are you guys doing August 15th?” Of course they had no clue so I responded, “Well keep it open because I might be in labor that day!” That was the same line I gave Jessica and Wyatt the night before. I then text Kim, Lindsey and Jade to tell them the news and found out my friend Kim is pregnant too! She is a month ahead of me. I’m excited to have a friend near me to go through this with. This is her 3rd child so I’m sure she’ll be able to provide lots of good insight. I just love sharing the news!!
I still have one group of friends to share the news with, which I will get to do when we go out to dinner next Wednesday. That is unless Tim’s myspace blunder gives away the news first. He posted on his Space that we have a baby on the way. I told him that he is going to ruin the surprise, so he is going to change it when he gets home. – See I’m such a grump! :)
Anyways, back to NYE. So we got to Asa’s friends house and everyone is so hospitable. It was low key, which was perfect. I ate a bunch of sweets and drank tons of water. At the stroke of midnight we all let off poppers and I kissed my hubby. I told Tim I wanted to leave soon, but he wanted to have one more face off with the other guys who were playing games in the garage. So I gave him 2 minutes. 10 minutes later I was at the top of the stairs telling him it was time to go. 20 minutes, and I tell him it’s time to go. Finally at 12:30 I said, “TIMOTHY, I’m getting in the car and we are leaving!” Finally he came. He then had to pee. I told him that he had plenty of time to pee, so I’m not stopping. 45 minutes later we get home and he had to hold it the whole way. That’s what you get when you mess with a pregnant woman and her sleep!
Oh, did I mention my New Year’s resolution was to be nicer to my husband? :)
